I’m a hobbyist developer, tech tinkerer, graphic designer, and that guy who uses gmake for literally everything.

I don't follow most modern conventions, which is probably why you're here. I only write software that I personally use. There are exceptions, like the occasional Casio add-in, but I don't spend months writing something "for learning purposes," only to rewrite it.
